7 Best Ways you can use Turmeric for Acne Scars and Radiant Skin.
Applying turmeric for acne scars and radiant skin isn’t new to us. Our great-grandmothers, grandmothers, and mothers have been using these since forever. One can use turmeric for fading acne scars and to achieve naturally healthy and bright skin.
Since many of us use it in a home remedy, we often run out of patience with these tips, formulas, and DIYs. Surely it takes a lot of time but, these little healthy steps will lead to a naturally radiant skin.
There is a host of remedies which include turmeric, but only a few of them works for us. And why is that?
Not all skin types respond to all home remedies equally. This is why we need to understand and analyze what works for us and what and how to include them in our beauty regime to get their amazing benefits.
We should know which concoction of turmeric suits us best. For this, I have listed certain ways to use turmeric for skin which is super easy and effective. I would suggest using at least one remedy 2-3 times a week to notice the difference.
Now coming down towards on how to use turmeric for acne scars and radiant skin:
1. To achieve acne free skin.
You will need as follows:
- Chickpeas flour (Besan)
- Raw milk
- Honey (preferable for dry skin)
Mix 1 Tsp of flour with 1/2 Tsp of turmeric. Put milk according to make the consistency you like. Put 1/2 Tsp of honey in the end. Honey is optional.
Wash your face with a mild cleanser. Pat dry your face. Apply the mixture all over your face evenly avoiding the eye area. Let it sit for around 15-20 minutes. Wash with lukewarm water.
If your face has still a yellowish hue, you can use mild face wash to remove it and try using less amount of turmeric next time.
This will clean your face and suck up the excess oil and dirt. You can use this daily before bathing.

5. Turmeric for Hyperpigmentation.
We have used turmeric for acne scars and radiant skin for ages, but we generally ignore turmeric for its other uses too. One such use is for hyperpigmentation.
Many of us tend to have hyperpigmentation as we age, it either develops on our cheeks or forehead and even the most unlikely places we can imagine. Wherever it is, undoubtedly it’s unpleasant to have them.
Fret not ladies! We do have this golden herb to the rescue. Here is how you can use it for your sake. Below I have listed certain combinations of turmeric that you can use for the pigmented area.
- Turmeric and Aloe Vera
- Turmeric and Coconut Oil
- Turmeric and Honey
You can also put tea tree essential oil in either of the three concoctions to boost its benefits. Here is a CAUTION, if you are using essential oils, beware of its highly concentrated properties. It is recommended to patch test before including it in your beauty regime.
6. Turmeric for Dark Circles.
Dark Circles is the most common problem and every 1 in 10 women faces it. It is not just restricted to women but men are its target too. Due to hectic schedules and stressful lifestyles, we eventually tend to develop them.
We don’t have to worry because as other skin problems, we can treat dark circles with turmeric easily. The results would not be instant, to be honest, but consistent application of the suggested remedy would yield great results with time.
Here is what you will need to prepare this DIY for dark circles:
- Vitamin E Oil
- Aloe Vera
Take 1 tsp of aloe vera, half tsp of turmeric and half tsp of vitamin e oil. Mix them thoroughly and apply to the affected area. Let it sit for 30 minutes then wash it off with lukewarm water. You can also keep it overnight if you want to.
Please patch test before using this DIY. If vitamin e oil doesn’t suit you, kindly switch to organic coconut oil.
7. Turmeric for Skin Brightening.
Whenever we talk about the natural methods of skin brightening or achieving radiant skin, Turmeric as a remedy stands out. This one herb is used in every DIY when used for skin brightening.
A home remedy can only brighten your skin not lighten it, so ladies beware of the misleading information that is present in abundance.
Having said that, we all know turmeric has been used for our skin for ages, but most of us do not know the correct concoction. Everyone’s skin is different and so various remedies respond distinctly. We need to be patient and look what best works for us!
Here is what you will need for Turmeric Skin Brightener DIY:
- Banana Pulp
- Lemon (Optional)
Take the proportion of banana according to your application area and the other ingredients in moderation. Mix all of them together and apply evenly. Let it sit for 25-30 mins and then wash it off with lukewarm water.
We call Turmeric, “The Golden Wonder Herb” for a reason and if you include these DIY’s or remedies in your beauty regime, you would agree too!
